Welcome to South City Church - A community
of Faith in the 
Brighton and Hove area.

South City Church is a warm and welcoming Christian community in Brighton and Hove. We meet every Sunday at 2 pm, and really value smaller home groups during the week where faith, friendship, and real life come together.

Everyone’s welcome. Nobody’s perfect. Anything’s possible.

We believe in simple church, not defined by buildings, programs or performance, but by people growing deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our desire is not just to attract attendees, but to see lives transformed through the gospel, prayer, worship, communion, and God’s Word. Everything we do flows from knowing Jesus and helping others discover the hope and freedom found in Him.

We’re a family of believers who care for one another and share life together. In our small groups, you’ll find space for honest conversations, heartfelt prayer, encouragement from Scripture, and practical steps to live out faith day by day.

At our Sunday gatherings, you’ll experience a family-friendly atmosphere centred on Bible teaching, discipleship, and friendship. We value the presence of children and young people. You’ll often see them reading Scripture, helping to serve, or joining the worship team. We believe they’re not just the future of the church, but a vital part of it right now.

Every person has a role to play in building God’s church. The Bible calls this the “priesthood of all believers” — the belief that everyone, not just leaders, is called to serve and make a difference.

What do we believe?

We believe

  • God is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine.
  • The Bible is God's perfect guidebook for living.
  • Jesus is God showing Himself to us.
  • Through the Holy Spirit, God lives in and through us now.

  • Nothing in creation "just happened". God made it all.
  • Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God.
  • Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God.

  • God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice. God can bring good even out of evil events and promises victory over evil to those who choose Him.
  • Heaven and Hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.

  • The church is to serve people like Jesus served people.
  • Jesus is coming again.

Children are a vital part of our church family — we plan fun, engaging activities just for them because they’re an important part of who we are.
